San Juan Classics features a special cusine, reflective of the natural abudance, rich history and relaxed lifestyle which has evolved in the San Juan Islands. The flavors of oysters on the grill, salmon smoking over alderwood and wild blackberry pie are all natural fare for San Juan residents. To this natural bounty, ethnic variations have been added, reflecting the culinary heritage of pioneers and later inhabitants of this region. The result is a cornucopia of island flavors, including recipes from fine island cooks and selected island restaurants, as well as the authors' own collection derived from enjoying the abundance of the San Juan Islands.
