Based on the book by John Wyndham, The Day Of The Triffids is a classic science fiction thriller. Following a spectacular meteor shower, Bill Masen (Howard Keel) is one of the few people left on Earth who can see.The shower had blinded all those who stared in wonder at the sky, yet Masen missed the event as he was undergoing eye surgery. The chaos that ensues allows the Triffids - poisonous walking plants that landed in a previous shower to attempt to take over the planet. Aided by Christine Durrant (Nicole Maurey), Masen fights to save the planet with a string of other people, including a child and an alcoholic.
