Grijpstra & de Gier
Grijpstra and De Gier investigate the disappearance of a 15 year-old girl from a community home with very liberal ideas about sexuality amongst the inhabitants. Grijpstra thinks she just ran away- years ago he searched for her mother who ran away with a boyfriend. Shortly after, she is found dead. A possible suspect is a Swiss man previously prosecuted for child molestation.
Grijpstra and De Gier witness a prisoner falling to his death in a prison stairwell while preparing to transport another prisoner. The man was pushed, and possible culprits are a woman who was left disabled after receiving toxic XTC from him, a public prosecutor who lost his daughter to toxic XTC she also got from him, and two scheming gay prisoners.
Former singer Dora Dorado falls out of her stairs lift and dies. Possible suspects include her much younger husband, her son and a painter who has his workshop in her house. The chief is pained by his rheumatoid arthritis.
Grijpstra and De Gier investigate the death of a young mother. Possible suspects are a German junkie and a madman who believes God told him to impregnate and kill twelve new Apostles. The absence of semen on the woman's body could mean the killer is trying to copy the madman. The drug-addicted suspects frustrate Grijpstra; they remind him of his own son, who ran away years ago.
Grijpstra and De Gier investigate the beating of a teacher at a school. All signs point towards a trouble-making Moroccan student mentored by her.
De Gier's crazy neighbor, Walther Steenman, claims that someone is trying to assassinate him. De Gier doesn't believe him, but then he and Grijpstra find a bullet hole in his house, and his wife is hospitalized after a car ran into her. It turns out that he is being mistaken for a prime witness in a trial against a top criminal. Grijpstra and De Gier want to help him, but are troubled by higher-ups who are afraid they will hamper the case against the criminal. A missing file turns up in Hetty's purse.
Grijpstra and De Gier investigate a singer's rape charges against her boss, record label owner Leon Latour. Later it turns out that she lied. Shortly after, Latour is found murdered. Possible suspects include a jealous singer and her mother, and a former singer and acquaintance of Latour.
While jogging, De Gier falls into a mysterious grave-shaped hole. The next day, it is closed, and when a curious De Gier starts digging he finds the body of a known animal liberation activist. He appears to have died of infection after being shot with police ammunition. Possible suspects include his family, a police officer and the ruthless Animal Liberation Front leader. Hetty is having mysterious phone conversations, and Cardozo thinks someone is blackmailing her. De Gier shadows her and discovers that she is secretly working as a call-girl.
Criminal Henk Faanhoff is released from jail after an 8 year sentence, and is promptly shot in his house. A possible suspect is another criminal whose brother was killed by Faanhoff. Digging into Faanhoff's past, De Gier discovers a revolting connection to Hetty which makes her and her sister suspects. Grijpstra's wife has said she wants to leave him.
